It's not about "getting to the end".

Last bank holiday Monday, we did something a little different as a family.
We went to a park with a high ropes course, thinking the boys would love it. They’re both active, love climbing, and are always looking for their next adventure.
And it was such good value for money. It was meant to be an hour and a half, but we were there for over two hours, with multiple courses they could repeat as many times as they liked.
But the part that stayed with me wasn’t the value, or even the fun.
It was what happened when things got hard.
Both boys flew through the first few courses. Confident, capable, completely in their element.
And then came the wobble.
My youngest hit a moment on his last course where he got scared. Properly stuck. Clinging to safety and unable to literally make a leap of faith.
There was no easy way out. No turning back (a poor girl had to wait halfway across an obstacle for ages for him to build up his courage to carry on!)
So we did the only thing we could do.
We stayed calm. We reassured him. We talked him through it and reminded him he was safe.
And he did it. Not because he wasn’t scared, but because he was supported through the fear.
Then the same thing happened with my eldest.
Further along and higher up - he wanted to go back but he couldn’t.
Again, we supported and encouraged him.
And again… he did it.
He chose not to do the final course, and that was completely okay. Because the win wasn’t “completing everything”. The win was trusting himself.

What this has to do with your baby
And thinking about it, this is exactly what early development looks like.
Not perfectly following a milestone checklist.
Not doing everything 'on time'.
Not pushing through regardless.
But feeling safe enough to try.
At Hushabye Hands, this is what we focus on every single week.
Creating a calm, secure environment
Supporting babies to explore at their own pace
Helping parents feel confident in responding to their baby
Building that trust between you and your little one
Confidence doesn’t come from being pushed.
It comes from being supported.
From knowing someone is right there with you.
From learning, “I can do this… and if I wobble, I’m not alone.”

And here’s the really important part.
Your baby doesn’t need to be the fastest, the earliest, or the most 'advanced'. They just need to feel safe, loved, and supported as they figure things out.
That’s where the magic happens.
That’s where resilience is built.
That’s where confidence grows.
If you’re looking for a space where your baby can explore, develop, and grow without pressure… you’re always so welcome at Hushabye Hands 💜
